It has been announced that there will be a closure of the High Street Gate into the Cathedral Close to vehicles next week on Wednesday, 8th, Thursday, 9th and Friday, 10th April.
The closure is to allow scaffolding to be erected on buildings for essential maintenance, and to ensure safety, vehicles will not be able to enter or exit the Cathedral Close via the High Street Gate on Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th April.
All vehicle access on these days will be via St Ann’s Gate on Exeter Street. From Crane Bridge Road and New Street, vehicles will need to follow the one-way route around the Mercure White Hart Hotel.
Due to the height restriction of St Ann’s Gate, larger vehicles may not be able to access the Close on these dates.
All vehicles will exit the Close via the Harnham Gate, onto De Vaux Place.
Pedestrians and cyclists will be unaffected and be able to use the High Street Gate as usual.
