Forres Sandle Manor is delighted to announce that its Year 6 and Year 7 pupils are now official Guinness World Records holders!
This exciting achievement was revealed during a special assembly, marking a momentous occasion in the school’s history.
The pupils played a key role in breaking the record for the largest-ever poetry lesson, joining an incredible 43,516 students worldwide in the extraordinary feat. Their participation highlighted the unifying power of poetry, creativity, and collaboration across borders.
Mrs. Gee, FSM’s Head of English, expressed her pride in the students’ accomplishments, "I am thrilled that our Year 6 and Year 7 pupils have contributed to a Guinness World Record for the largest poetry lesson across multiple venues.
"The final poem is a truly remarkable global effort, and poetry continues to be a strong and much-loved part of school life at FSM. Providing our pupils with meaningful opportunities to develop their voices as writers is incredibly important."
The school says that this record-breaking achievement reflects FSM’s dedication to encouraging creativity, inspiring a lifelong appreciation for the written word, and encouraging pupils to take part in enriching, memorable experiences.
