Fire crews are set to carry out a major training exercise at Salisbury Cathedral.
Teams from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service will join colleagues from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service for the operation tomorrow (Tuesday).
The exercise will simulate a rescue from height, with crews practising techniques inside the cathedral’s 123-metre spire.
Specialist teams, including rope rescue units and an aerial ladder platform, will take part alongside ambulance service responders.
Organisers say the scenario will help crews prepare for complex emergencies and improve joint working between services.
The exercise is the first of its kind to be held at the cathedral, providing a unique and challenging training environment.
