Final Chance to Save Salisbury’s Only Arcade – Join the Community Push to Keep Highest Score Open

This Friday and Saturday (11th and 12th July), Salisbury residents have one final chance to help save something truly unique in the city: Highest Score Arcade.

Highest Score Arcade is a locally owned retro arcade and entertainment space in the Cross Keys Shopping Centre.

After being forced to close due to operational issues, rising costs and low footfall, owner James is reopening the doors for two very special days in a last effort to keep the arcade alive.

Entry is just £1, as a minimum donation. You can stay as long as you like, and pay more if you wish; every pound goes directly towards keeping the lights on.

The arcade features a carefully restored collection of pinball and retro gaming machines. On these open days, it will also serve locally brewed craft beer from Dark Revolution, creating a fun, nostalgic space for both families and adults to enjoy.

“I built Highest Score to bring back real, hands-on gaming and community fun to Salisbury,” James says. “This weekend is about showing what’s possible when people come together. If there’s ever been a time to visit, it’s now. Thank you all for your support online, I've seen the comments and hope you can continue your support by joining us this weekend”

The weekend is more than just a visit to an arcade; it's a chance to prove that independent shops can survive when supported by the people and businesses around them. If the turnout is strong, there’s a real chance to keep the arcade running through the summer and beyond. If not, these may be its final days.

Salisbury locals, parents, gamers, and businesses, we need your help. Share this story. Visit the arcade. Be part of saving something rare and joyful.
