A man from Southampton has been sentenced to three years in prison after admitting his role in the supply of Class A drugs.
Gabi-Nicole Schiaua, 35, of Portswood Avenue, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and was sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court on November 6th.
On the afternoon of September 10th, officers on patrol in Salisbury spotted a Renault Clio travelling along The Avenue.
Due to the poor manner of driving, the vehicle was stopped and subsequently identified as being linked to drug supply.
When the officers stopped the vehicle, Schiaua was seen attempting to conceal items. A Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act search was conducted on the driver and the vehicle, which uncovered various items linked to the offence of drug supply.
Schiaua was arrested at the scene and later charged following extensive enquiries.
Sgt Susan Malkinson said: “I am pleased that officers were able to intercept the supply of Class A drugs within the Salisbury area, and that the seriousness of this offending has been reflected in the custodial sentence handed to Schiaua.
"This is a great example of teamwork involving Salisbury Neighbourhood Team, South CID and other specialist departments."
