Thieves forced open the metal clasp keeping the box open, and helped themselves to the money inside.
The theft happened sometime between 3 pm on Sunday, 13th August and Monday morning when staff arrived to find the box broken into.
They posted on Facebook, "Farm donations box takings stolen!!
"Heartbreaking to find this when we arrived this morning - some lowlife thieves must have got a heavy duty tool out to tear the metal on this donation box apart.
"Who does that to a community farm that is free to visit?
"Must have happened after 3pm Sunday 13th. Any info please call 01722 330667, or email info@riverbournecommunityfarm.org.uk"
Supporters and followers on their Facebook page were angry at the theft.
