Wiltshire Creative’s Take Part Team are hosting 'Curious About Culture' – a free drop‑in event celebrating the breadth of creative opportunities available across our city on Wednesday, 4th March.
With tea, biscuits, taster activities, displays and over 20 local creatives and cultural organisations, this welcoming marketplace-style event invites absolutely everyone to come along. Whether you’re a teacher, parent, young person, creative newcomer, recently retired, seeking evening classes, or looking to volunteer, you’ll find something to spark your interest.
Sarah Gregson, Take Part Director at Wiltshire Creative, said, “Curious About Culture is about opening our doors wide and inviting everyone in. Salisbury Arts Centre is a place where creativity belongs to the whole community. We want people of every age and background to feel welcome, represented and inspired – whether they’re taking their first creative steps, returning to something they love, or discovering new ways to connect.”
Visitors can explore the full range of Wiltshire Creative’s participatory programmes, including: Wiltshire Creative Academy, Stage 65 Youth Theatre, Mind The Gap arts for over 60s, Under 5s Fridays and the Young Technicians programme.
You can also meet some of the artists leading the Arts Centre’s expanding programme of classes and courses – from creative writing to early years music, from singing bowl meditation to our CrAfter School Club for ages 7–11.
Gjenya Cambray, Community Relationships Officer, added, “We can’t wait to share our work with the community, but we’re equally thrilled to showcase our fantastic cultural collaborators and institutions. Joining us will be the Curator of the Young Gallery, the Well‑City Salisbury team, Salisbury Cathedral, The Wardrobe Museum and Salisbury Museum. Alongside them you can meet our resident company Dance SIX-0 and regular collaborators Panthera Dance.”
Attendees are welcome to drop in at any time between 3 and 7 pm, or join short spotlight sessions at 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm, where Sarah Gregson will share news about volunteering, creative learning opportunities, and how the participation and schools programme at Salisbury Arts Centre will continue to grow.
