Two fundraising fairs are being hosted at the Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop this weekend.
On Saturday (22nd November), the Museum will welcome 40 local independent traders and artists for its Christmas Fair inside the surroundings of the Hayward Hall, giving people the chance to buy a range of special gifts for their loved ones and get ahead of the Christmas shopping game.
With everything from jewellery to homemade cakes, original artwork to gin, candles to gifts, the Museum says visitors will be sure to have lots to browse.
Alongside the vendors there will also be free Christmas craft activities for children provided by Feathered Skies Nursery and Pre-school.
On Sunday (23rd November), both hangars in the Museum will be packed full of traders and model clubs, as it opens its doors for the popular annual Aircraft Enthusiasts Fair and Model show. There will also be a range of stalls buying, selling and exchanging aviation and modelling related items - books, photographs, magazines, models, accessories and more.
Models for Heroes will also be running one of their popular model-making and painting sessions on the day so pop in and have a go at making your own model under their expert guidance and take home something to be proud of. There is no additional charge for this activity, but donations to the charity are welcome.
Visitors will also be able to see Independent Armour with their amazing remote-controlled tanks around the Museum, which is always a popular attraction at the annual Wallop Wheels and Wings event.
Chief Executive of the Army Flying Museum Lucy Johnson said, “We are very excited about the events taking place at the Museum this weekend, which we hope will see lots of people through the doors not only to enjoy browsing the wide range of exhibitors and traders, but also to look around our fabulous Museum. With so many great stalls nestled in amongst all our wonderful exhibits, it really will be a sight to see”
The Apache Café will be open for visitors during the day and will be serving a range of festive treats alongside its usual menu.
Tickets for the Christmas Fair are £3 for adults and £2 for children and for the Aircraft Enthusiasts Fair are £12 for adults and £7 for children.
