Salisbury Cathedral is warning that the High Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on Thursday, 7th May.
The closure will allow for the removal of scaffolding on buildings, and to ensure safety, vehicles will not be able to enter or exit the Cathedral Close via the High Street Gate on Thursday, 7th May, from 8 am to 5 pm.
All vehicle access on this day will be via St Ann’s Gate on Exeter Street. From Crane Bridge Road and New Street, vehicles will need to follow the one-way route around the Mercure White Hart Hotel.
Due to the height restriction of St Ann’s Gate, larger vehicles may not be able to access the Close on this date.
All vehicles will exit the Close via the Harnham Gate, onto De Vaux Place.
Pedestrians and cyclists will be unaffected and be able to use the High Street Gate as usual.
