After last Thursday's fire at Hangar Three at the Old Sarum Airfield, the two businesses most affected by the blaze look nearly ready to return.
It follows the fire at Hangar Three at the historic WW1 airfield last Thursday (17th April). The former hangar and the buildings nearby, used by Go Skydive and Hangar 3 Cafe, were affected by the fire. Hangar 3 cafe and restaurant has been completely destroyed by the fire.
The team from GoSkyDive have been working hard to clear the area they operate from and hope to welcome thrill seekers to Old Sarum again soon. They had planned for the first jumps to take place today, but it appears the weather has put those plans on hold.
On their website, they said, "We are very nearly ready to welcome customers again! However, the Great British Weather is currently preventing us from Skydiving on Friday, April 25th. Watch this space."
Meanwhile, the team at Hangar 3 have also issued an update, and they will return with a temporary solution opening later today. In a Facebook post, they said, "We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the love and support from our amazing community over the past few days—thank you, just doesn’t feel like enough.
"We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get back on our feet, and—fingers crossed—we’re hoping to be back in action (albeit on a very reduced scale) this Friday!!
"We’ve managed to source a temporary kitchen, but we’re now on the lookout for a few essentials: chopping boards, kitchen knives, and commercial-grade utensils.
"We’re also on the lookout to rent or borrow a 3-phase petrol generator for about a week and a bit to help us with our temporary setup.
"If you or someone you know might be able to donate or help us find any of these bits, we’d be so, so grateful. 
"We’ll keep you updated as the week goes on, but for now—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You’ve truly lifted us during such a tough time."
