Applications will open at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 17th September, for two new shared ownership properties in Fordingbridge, which the New Forest District Council is providing.
The three-bedroom properties form part of a wider development, named Knightwood Chase, which is being built by Cala Homes and includes 28 homes for rent and 14 shared ownership properties, through a mixture of apartments and 2 and 3-bedroom houses.
Cllr Steve Davies, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Homelessness, said: “It is very positive to see the first properties from the Knightwood Chase development now ready for local people, which marks an important step in meeting our priority to provide high-quality housing across the district.
"The homes have been built with sustainability in mind, with features such as electric vehicle charging points and measures to protect and encourage local wildlife, including bird and bat boxes. Residents will benefit from new pedestrian and cycle routes, along with almost ten hectares of new public open space.
"Overall, the site will deliver a minimum ten per cent biodiversity gain, helping to enhance the local environment while meeting housing needs. This is a great example of how we can deliver affordable, sustainable homes that improve people’s lives and make a positive difference to the wider community.”
Work is continuing on the remaining rented and shared ownership properties within the development, which are due to be available in autumn 2028.
