Wiltshire Police are looking for our help following an incident involving a dog outside the Tesco on Castle Street over the weekend.
In a statement they said:
"We are appealing for witnesses following an incident outside Tesco supermarket in Castle Street, Salisbury at about 1.30pm on Saturday (14/01) during which a woman was attacked by a dog.
"The woman was taken to hospital where she received treatment for injuries which are serious but not life threatening.
"The male owner of the white American bulldog was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He is currently in police custody.
"The dog has been taken into appropriate care.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call us on 101 quoting log 54230004637."
