Barford St Martin is welcoming back visitors and buyers to its popular Brocante for the third year running.
Based on the French custom of a table-top sale, the unusual aspect of the Barford Brocante is that the sale is held in the gardens of many local residents across the village.
The event will offer for sale a fantastic array of antiques, collectables, vintage, retro bric-a-brac, toys and quirky ‘must have’ finds.
.
Following the success of previous events, this year’s Brocante promises to be an outstanding event.
It will be held on Saturday, 12th July and will run from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. The event is guaranteed to offer buyers a wonderful cornucopia of treasures from pre-loved items to silverware, plants, cakes and more besides.
Free parking is available in the Barford Inn car Park (SP3 4AB).
The Barford Brocante is being organised by the Barford St Martin Community Fund, which, through its fundraising efforts and events, aims to provide much-needed amenities and support for residents of Barford St Martin.
This year, the fund is focusing on a fantastic conservation project. Sited beside the River Nadder, it will provide a vital sanctuary and precious habitats for wildlife as well as food for pollinators and other wildlife.
Already, 130 pollinating shrubs have been planted, and the area will eventually be filled with the fabulous sight of colourful wild flowers..
The project will also feature information boards showcasing the diverse wildlife species that can be observed in the area, as well as providing a peaceful seating area where residents can recharge their batteries and learn more about the precious wildlife that is attracted to the surrounding area.
Visitors arriving for the Brocante can park in the Barford Inn car park (SP3 4AB) and pick up a map to find their way to the gardens of the participating residents.
There is no charge for attending the Brocante in the village.
