DJ Neil Long is hosting a 12hr fundraiser on Sunday 20th June, for World Jenny’s Day, a mental health awareness campaign particularly focussing this year on depressed, overwhelmed and compromised people and their carers.
Starting at 10am on Sunday 20th June on mixcloud ex-Capital FM DJ Neil Long will be kicking off a 12hr music marathon which sees 8 DJ’s playing throughout the day to raise money for World Jenny’s Day 2021.
Neil will also be talking to founder of World Jenny’s Day, Jenetta Barry about how the campaign will be using the creative arts on World Jenny’s Day to provide a message of hope and solutions to those in crisis.
Jenetta explains why the fundraiser is important “We are thrilled that Neil has chosen to help us raise funds for the campaign as well as helping to raise awareness of the support we offer.”
World Jenny’s Day offers an empowering platform that shares people’s real-lived experiences to help others gain a wider understanding around mental health.
With this 12hr music marathon we are aiming to raise funds so that we continue our work to support carers of the depressed, as well as those who are feeling misunderstood or disconnected, by using the powerful medium of the arts - drawing, dance, song, acting and visuals.”
World Jenny’s Day was created by Jenetta after the death of her daughter Jenny, who at the age of 16 took her own life. Now Jenetta is on a mission, through the use of creative arts, to showcase the reality of what it’s like to feel depressed / disengaged and to provide hope through empowering insights and solutions to these challenges that have been experienced through The Epiphany Process -
Throughout the 12-hr music marathon there are interviews of World Jenny’s Day Ambassadors, including Bella Angel, Epiphany Process clients who have triumphed through adversity, as well as key World Jenny's Day Team Members from across the globe.
There’s also a fundraising auction which will be offering a host of lots including an exclusive limited edition print 1/1000 of INS;GHT oil painting, a virtual party donated by DJ Neil Long, Strat Plan Day with Jenetta Barry, a Mixed Case of Wine donated by IEM Limited and a signed pre-published copy of Alison Edgar MBE's Book - "Smash IT!"
Jenetta ends “Music is an important part of the many arts projects that World Jenny’s Day use to reach those who are supporting those who are feeling depressed or themselves are feeling disjointed in their lives. So, we are delighted through Neil’s online event, he and the other DJ’s will be using their music selection to fundraise for World Jenny’s Day 2021 and our campaign.”
