A woman in her 60s has died following a collision on the A303 this morning causing the road to be closed for most of the day.
Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway near to Stonehenge shortly before 10 am following a collision involving an HGV and a car.
The female driver of the car, a woman in her 60s from Bath, sadly died at the scene.
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said, "Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a specialist-trained officer. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
"The driver of the HGV was uninjured. A closure was put in place at Countess roundabout and Longbarrow roundabout.
"Enquiries are currently ongoing.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who may have dash cam footage should call 101 or email SCIT@wiltshire.police.uk."
