Witness appeal after disorder involving young teenagers in Salisbury

Wiltshire Police are appealing for information following a report of a disorder in Salisbury last month.

The incident happened at around 5.35pm on Monday 23rd May when something was thrown at a car which was driving down Catherine Street.

Shortly after, the driver of the vehicle pulled over to inspect the damage, and while she was doing this she was verbally abused by a group of youths who then approached her and assaulted her passenger.

Her car was subsequently damaged during the disorder and the male passenger was punched.

On the day of the incident, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of two counts of common assault, criminal damage, possession of cannabis and cultivating cannabis.

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

Police say they have both been released on conditional bail while their enquiries continue.

PC James Bates, from the local policing team, said, “Despite these two arrests, our investigation is very much ongoing and we would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the disorder and might be able to assist.

“If you saw what happened, please call us.”

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting crime reference 54220053384. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
