Wiltshire Police has launched a new entry route which allows recruits to train as police constables without the requirement to study for a degree.
The Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) aims to open opportunities to a broader range of candidates. By eliminating the degree requirement, Wiltshire Police aims to attract a wider range of candidates.
The application deadline is 10th March, with successful candidates expected to start in September 2024.
Deputy Chief Constable Craig Dibdin said: “This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has wanted to join policing but may have been deterred by the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship route.
“The campaign is open to all. We are especially interested in hearing from people from other service careers, police community support officers, operational police staff roles and those from the military.
“Successful policing is primarily about solving complex problems. We’re committed to reaching a diverse range of candidates which reflect the communities we serve. People with different backgrounds, thinking, views and experiences. The more diverse we are, the better we are.
