As a charity, Wiltshire Creative says it believes that live performance should be for everyone and so is delighted to announce the return of its annual Christmas Appeal - Be A Star For Giving.
The appeal invites the community to raise funds for over 1,000 Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime tickets at Salisbury Playhouse to be gifted to local children and families who would otherwise be unable to attend this Christmas.
Christmas is a time for stories, and there’s no story more magical than a pantomime at Salisbury Playhouse. Yet for too many children in Salisbury, this story never begins. In the city and surrounding areas, around 30% of young people face disadvantage on many levels. Some are cared for children and others are receiving free school meals, and their families are relying on charity support just to get by. Despite Wiltshire Creative offering over 5000 subsidised school pantomime tickets every year, for some, this special Christmas experience still feels out of reach.
That’s why they're asking for your help with a donation of £20, or more if you can, so that over 1000 pantomime tickets can be given to families facing hardship. Thanks to generous donors who have agreed to match all funds raised, every pound you donate will be doubled. Your gift can plant that first magical seed. It's more than a gift; it's an invitation to a child saying, 'You belong here.'
