Aubrey Steel of Wilton Rotary Club is to take on a big solo, unsupported bike ride into France and back.
Aubrey, 62, will be riding from his home in Fovant to Newhaven on the south coast, where he will catch the ferry to Dieppe in France before cycling to Cherbourg to catch another ferry back to Poole.
To complete the ride, he will then ride back home from Poole to complete the circular solo ride.
During the ride, he will cover hundreds of miles, visiting other rotary clubs and war cemeteries to pay his respects.
Aubrey said about the ride, "The object of the solo ride, unsupported, is to raise the profile of Rotary and raise some funds to help Wilton Rotary support the local community and the wider need. 100% of the funds are donated. Rotary keep no funds back. Every day of every year, Rotary will be helping someone in your community."
