Brian Dutton's Salisbury side have secured their first league win of the season, lifting them off the bottom of the table.
A first-half goal from Tommy Willard was cancelled out on the hour mark through Slough's Jared Myers before Josh Hedges secured all three points with 15 minutes left to play.
Willard, returning after an injury lay off, was at the heart of much of the good work early on, going close with a free kick which brushed the post on its way behind for a goal kick.
Matty Taylor was also causing problems for the Slough defence; he forced an opportunity for Harry Tustin to create something, but the midfielder couldn't quite find the killer pass.
The Whites did break the resolve of Slough, however, with just over a quarter of an hour gone. Matt Briggs left Harry Lee's ball into the box, and the returning Tommy Willard tucked the ball home to open the scoring.
Taylor came close to doubling the homeside's lead, but his well-struck shot from the edge of the box cannoned off the underside of the bar before bouncing away, and Salisbury led by the single goal at halftime.
Slough Town looked to force their way back into the game and found parity on the hour mark. Substitute Jared Myers getting the final touch in a crowded penalty area from a corner.
Salisbury sub Josh Hedges made his mark after replacing Tommy Willard just after the Slough goal.
First, he was denied by Besbois when put through one-on-one, then another good low save from the Slough keeper just a couple of minutes later.
There was no stopping his third attempt, though. In the 76th minute, Hedges managed to find space on the edge of the box to slot home into the bottom right-hand corner to restore the home side's lead.
Slough had a good chance to steal a draw, but Will Buse did enough to prevent Wiktor Makowski from finding the target as the game drew to a close and the Whites collected all three points for the first time this season.
Up next for Salisbury is the visit of Farnborough Town on Tuesday evening (21st October). Tickets can be purchased in advance via the club's website - https://www.salisburyfc.co.uk/tickets/
