After a crucial win against a struggling Eastbourne Borough side, Salisbury set their sights on another club in need of a result in Torquay United.
The Devonshire side are still in the playoff positions but are yet to win a game since the beginning of February, a run that saw former manager Paul Wotton sacked and replaced by Neil Warnock, who was appointed as an interim.
Perhaps even more emphatically, the hosts haven’t found three points at home since early January against Hampton & Richmond, something that Brian Dutton and his side will want to extend.
The Gulls have also conceded 17 goals (and only scored five in return) in their last five games, including a 0-5 drubbing from Chelmsford City at home and a 4-2 loss against Eastbourne away.
Sitting at the bottom of the form guide, this evening’s opposition will be in desperate need of a positive performance to put their playoff hopes back on track.
Salisbury and Torquay last met in early October, with the Devonshire side winning by a single goal, scored early in the game by the skipper Matt Worthington.
