Welsh visitors at the Ray Mac this Saturday

Salisbury FC have another tough match this Saturday as they welcome fellow promotion chasers Merthyr Town to the Ray Mac.

The team from the valleys of South Wales are currently in the final play-off position but are having a bit of a wobble as the season approaches its final stages.

They were on a run of five games without a win, having met a series of tough opponents, including top-three sides Gosport Borough and Chesham United, ahead of the meeting with Salisbury.

Last night though, Merthyr returned to winning ways. They ran at 3-1 winners in their fixture against Plymouth Parkway.

Meanwhile, Salisbury have been on decent form, only losing once in the last six matches and more than matched league leaders Chesham United last time out.

Salisbury ran out 3-1 winners in a competitive game, becoming the first team to beat Chesham in 14 matches, ending their unbeaten streak.

Goals from Noah Coppin and Josh Hedges sent most of the 1186 inside the Ray Mac home happy and dreaming of competing in the playoffs at the end of the season.

Brian Dutton would love another big crowd to back the players as his side head into the business end of the season. Salisbury currently sit in second place in the league, four points ahead of Gosport in third, and 13 clear of Walton & Hersham, who sit just outside the playoff places.
