Wiltshire Police have arrested two people following a serious assault in Amesbury late on Thursday evening (2nd May).
At around 11:45 pm, police received a report from the ambulance service of an assault in Mill Green Road, Amesbury.
The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered a serious head injury and has been taken to the hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
In a statement, police said, "Following enquiries, we have arrested two men, aged 28 and 22, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
"The 22-year-old was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug and drug driving after drugs were found in his sock, while he was also arrested on suspicion of harassment in connection with an incident in Hampshire.
"Both men remain in custody for questioning.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact us on 101 quoting log 353 of Thursday’s date (01/05)."
