Trio to Sky Dive in Memory of 'Extraordinary Woman'

A trio of daredevils will take on a sky dive in memory of a grandmother and godmother who spent her life making people feel like they mattered.

Jo Hibbert of Andover passed away two years ago after a lifetime of opening her heart to neighbours, friends, her choir friends, her NHS colleagues and so many more people who came into her life.

Those who knew her say she had a wonderful way of making people feel that they mattered, and she became a very special part of the lives of so many people around her.

Her grandson, Simon Ayers and her godson, Sean Curtis, both of whom she loved dearly, are still devastated by her loss two years on.

They wanted to do something that would honour her, celebrate the very special place she held in their lives, and raise funds for the incredible hospice that cared for her with such love, dignity and compassion.

So, together with Sean’s wife, Kaylee, they are taking on something rather terrifying — a 10,000ft parachute jump in memory of Jo.

“Jumping for Jo” will take place on 30 August at Go Skydive at Old Sarum Airfield, Salisbury.

It is their way of giving something back to the Countess of Brecknock Hospice Andover that cared for her so wonderfully.

The trio said, "[This is] A very special thank you to Laura, whose kindness helped Jo into the hospice when she needed it most. We will always be grateful.

"Jo may no longer be with us, but the love she gave so freely continues to live on in all those whose lives she touched."
