Top athletes from across Wiltshire have been recognised at a special awards event.
Wiltshire Council hosted its Sporting Excellence Presentation at County Hall, bringing together elite athletes and scholarship recipients for the first time.
The event celebrated those supported through the council’s programme to help future Olympians and Paralympians with training and competition costs.
A wide range of sports were represented, from athletics and cycling to gymnastics and para sport.
Among those taking part in the evening was Dan Bethell, a Paralympic silver medallist who highlighted the importance of local support in reaching the top level.
Since launching in 2011, the programme has supported more than 160 athletes, helping many go on to compete for Great Britain on the world stage.
Councillors say the event highlights the strength of sporting talent across Wiltshire and aims to inspire the next generation.
