Salisbury's peregrines laid their second egg early this morning (22nd March 2022).
The second egg was spotted on the live peregrine webcam at around 5.45 – 5.52am this morning. Watch the footage below.
The second egg comes just in time for the 'Name the Parents' competition which was launched by Salisbury Cathedral today.
To celebrate the upcoming Flower Festival in May, Salisbury Cathedral invites residents to submit nature-inspired names for the male and female peregrine adults to be in with a chance of winning two tickets to the Flower Festival on a day of your choice.
Names should be relating to flora and fauna, from local wildlife to exotic blooms. The cathedral would also love to hear your reasons for choosing these names too.
The winning entry will be selected at 2pm on 1st April 2022 and will be contacted by email.
