A crowd gathered this afternoon in the Guildhall Square, Salisbury, to witness the City's Mayor read the local Proclamation.
The Mayor, Cllr Tom Corbin, was joined by Deputy Lieutenant Richard Arundel, Lieutenant General Sir Andrew Gregory and Deputy Lieutenant Dr Phil Harding. Giving a blessing was the Dean of Salisbury Cathedral, Nicholas Papadopulos.
Also in attendance were John Glen MP, the Mayoress Caroline Corbin, past Mayors, sitting councillors and council staff and volunteers.
The ceremony was one of many taking place around the country following the National Proclamation in London yesterday (10th September 2022).
