Salisbury 'influencer' found guilty of posting grossly offensive content

A social media 'influencer' who lives in Salisbury has been found guilty of four charges of posting "grossly offensive" videos to TikTok.

The case was heard at Salisbury Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 4th of August, centred on content posted between March 4th and April 18th this year, and again, on April 26th, Ryan breached a condition of bail, not to post on social media.

Ryan accepted that she posted the videos but that they were not grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene, or menacing character whilst defending 'freedom of speech'.

Fiona Ryan, 40, of Laverstock Road had pleaded not guilty to four charges of posting ‘grossly offensive’ TikTok videos in March and April this year.

Representing herself, Ryan apologised for any offence caused but denied that the content of the posts, which were shown in court, was anti-Semitic.

However, District Judge Timothy Pattinson found Fiona Ryan guilty of all four charges - saying in his summary that the evidence presented before the court proved that ‘any reasonable person would find all of this material featured in this trial grossly offensive.’

Fiona Ryan was bailed to appear before Salisbury Magistrates Court on October 15 for sentencing.
