Salisbury FC have announced the signing of versatile right-back Jamar Smith.
The player has been on trial with the club during pre-season and has now joined for the season.
Smith has previously played for North Leigh and, most recently, Didcot Town.
As the player has been with the club during pre-season, he is already beginning to establish himself within the squad.
Jamar told the club's website, "I'm over the moon; I couldn't believe it when the move came about. It came out of nowhere. I took a chance and messaged the manager, and here I am. Sometimes you have to create your own opportunities."
Brian Dutton told the club website, "I’m delighted to have Jamar signed, sealed and delivered. He’s a player that came in off his own back through pre-season and proved himself, and integrated into the group well.
"He’s a versatile player who can play numerous positions, prominently at right back but can also play on the wing. He’ll be a fantastic addition to the squad."
Salisbury rounded off their pre-season fixtures with a two-nil home defeat to Hampton & Richmond Borough FC of the National League South.
The Whites now look forward to this Saturday's (5th August) first league fixture of the 2023/24 season and a home time with Beaconsfield Town. Kick-off is at 3 pm and tickets can be purchased via the Salisbury FC website
