Spire Telecom is supporting two of our local pantries this Christmas and is helping raise Christmas spirits.
Based in Old Sarum, the telecoms company has been on a big shopping trip and delivered food to the Salisbury Pantry and the Old Sarum and Longhedge Community Pantry.
The pantries combined support hundreds of families living in Salisbury and the Old Sarum & Longhedge communities struggling with living costs.
A Pantry works differently from a foodbank. It charges a small membership fee, allowing shoppers to buy food that would generally be much more expensive in a regular supermarket.
They also stock fresh fruit & vegetables, fridge and freezer items, and other tinned and store cupboard items.

Spire Telecom, formed just over a year and a half ago, is proud to be part of the local community and wants to help people who need a little extra help making Christmas special this year. They said, "If we can help lower the cost of someone's food bill in the run-up to Christmas, then hopefully they can save that money and spend it on presents for their kids.
"Christmas is a magical time of the year, but it's also very expensive, and we are aware that there are a lot of people who are going to struggle this December, and we feel lucky to be able to help out in a small way."
The team from Spire Telecom went shopping at a local supermarket, buying items to help fill the pantry shelves ready for one of their busiest times of the year. They then delivered the items to both local organisations.
