We are urging residents to take extra measures to keep their properties safe following a number of burglaries across South Wiltshire.
The break-ins took place between 8 and 11 October in the Amesbury, Tidworth and Salisbury areas.
Officers are carrying out additional patrols in the affected areas to provide reassurance, speak with residents and gather information as part of the ongoing investigations.
Inspector Gavin Brewster said: "Burglary is a horrendous crime. Not only do offenders steal people's belongings, but they can leave a lasting emotional impact on victims, who are left knowing someone has entered their home and invaded what should be their safe space.
"Prior to these incidents in South Wiltshire, there were a number of similar offences reported over the border in Hampshire. While we cannot say at this stage whether the incidents are linked, we are keeping an open mind and exploring all lines of enquiry.
"We are urging residents to consider what additional measures they can take to protect their homes and to report any suspicious activity to us through our website, or by calling 999 in an emergency."
