Wiltshire Police says a driver linked to a serious collision in Collingbourne Ducis has now been identified.
The appeal followed a crash on the A346 on Sunday April 19 involving a Land Rover and a motorbike.
Officers had been trying to trace a Volkswagen ID3 seen in the area at the time.
Police have now confirmed both the vehicle and driver have been located.
The driver is currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
The motorcyclist, a man in his forties, remains in a serious condition in hospital.
Police have thanked members of the public who came forward with information.
