A man is currently in custody following a 10-mile police pursuit in Ludgershall.
Shortly before midnight on Monday, 28th August, officers attempted to stop a Volkswagen Polo on Tidworth Road following concerns regarding the manner of driving.
The driver failed to stop and made off from the police.
A police spokesperson said, "A pursuit was authorised through Ludgershall, onto the A342 to Leckford crossroads, through Tidworth and into Bulford.
"Officers were able to stop the vehicle on the A303 eastbound.
"A man in his 20s from Laverstock was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, no insurance and drink driving.
"He was taken to Gablecross custody for further questioning, and enquiries are ongoing.
"This month, we’ve been raising awareness of the fatal five offences on our roads – drink and drug driving, careless driving, excess speed, no seatbelts and using a mobile phone whilst driving. This follows a rise in serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads. "
