Lynne Blackwood has left her role as a Salisbury City Councillor, potentially triggering a by-election for her seat.
Cllr Blackwood has been unable to attend meetings recently because of ill health and will no longer be a city councillor.
This means a vote will take place if ten electors from the City Ward of Salisbury (Salisbury St Paul’s Ward) write to the Returning Officer at Wiltshire Council by 3rd October 2024 asking for an election to be held.
If this doesn't happen, the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
If an election is called, it will take place no later than 5 December 2024.
A Notice of Vacancy has been displayed on the City Council’s website here and on the Wiltshire Council website. The Election Request Form can also be found on the Salisbury City Council website or collected from the Salisbury Information Centre.
