Wiltshire Council is encouraging people to reach for their swimming costumes and keep cool in the pool with swim loyalty promotions and intensive lessons this summer.
The loyalty promotion, available in all Wiltshire Council-run swimming pools, offers a free tenth swim once a participant has purchased the first nine swims.
Running between Saturday, 1 July and Thursday, 31 August, the eligible swims can be purchased during all public swimming sessions throughout the week.
Intensive lessons covering a range of the Swim England Learn to Swim pathway, including Ducklings, Stages 1-7, Diving and Water Safety, are offered during each school holiday period.
Children enrolled will have access to a daily class throughout the week.
The sessions are an ideal way to introduce children to swimming, boost confidence and advance the skills of those already enrolled in the council's swim school programme.
Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Leisure, Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, said: "With the summer upon us it’s a great time for people to keep active and take up swimming.
"Whether you’re just starting out, joining in with one of the intensive courses or a regular swimmer, swimming can provide a full-body workout burning calories whilst also being a great stress reliever - all key themes of our business plan.
“With under 3s and all our weekly swim school members getting free swimming already, parents can also use the loyalty scheme to take their children to practice and further develop their confidence and skills in the water. Being able to keep cool during the heat and get yourself a free swim are added bonuses.
“The loyalty swim promotion is available on all public swimming sessions; for non-members, leisure card holders, gymnastics and trampoline school members, where swimming is a pay-as-you-go activity.”
