Alabaré is looking for speed demons and dancing queens for a day on the track this September, for their first ever Colour Dash and 10K Speedway.
They have partnered with Thruxton Race Circuit for the event, with participants making their way around the famous tarmac to raise money to help homeless people into safe accommodation, with peer support and towards independent living.
There are two options to choose from – either a 10 kilometre run for more seasoned competitors, or the 3.8 kilometre family-friendly version.
Could you take on the 10K Speedway?
The day at Thruxton will begin with the 10K Speedway, with runners completing two and a half laps of the track.
It’s a chipped and timed event, so it could be a chance to gain a personal best on what’s notoriously Britain’s fastest race circuit, or a special location for your first ever longer-distance event.
The smooth track makes it a perfect space for both beginners and more experienced runners to run around!
Places for this event are limited to just 250 runners, so sign up now to secure your space at https://alabare.co.uk/events/10k-speedway-charity-run-to-end-homelessness/
Entry is £25 for adults, or £20 for young people aged 15 to 17, and includes a finisher’s medal.
Bring the neon for the Colour Dash
Then there will be the Colour Dash, suitable for all ages and abilities, where participants can walk, jog, wheel, or dance their way around one lap of the Thruxton Circuit.
A soundtrack of dance-floor hits from across the decades will mean dashers can boogie throughout, with five colour stations en route, where competitors can be showered in powdered paint, to brighten spirits and faces alike.
The Colour Dash ends with a big foam finish – imagine wading through your overflowing bath bubbles, and you get the idea!
There is a hope to see a 2,000-strong crowd of dashers – sign up at https://alabare.co.uk/events/colour-dash-to-end-homelessness/
Adult entry starts from £22, with young people aged 6 to 17 priced at £10 and children under 6 at just £5 to take part. All participants receive a finisher’s medal.
