Wiltshire Council say they are investigating the cause of damage and lifted paving slabs on Fisherton Street.
As Salisbury Radio first reported on Tuesday (16th June) this week, a section of paving has lifted and become damaged outside Pizza Hut's outlet.
The paving, which was laid as part of the £3.2m Fisherton Gateway Project, which was formally completed in October 2024, has lifted and cracked, leaving the pavement on that side of Fisherton Street closed, with barriers in place.

Wiltshire Council now say they are also inspecting other nearby sections of paving as part of their highway inspections to ensure there are no issues elsewhere.
Cllr Martin Smith, Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “We are aware of the section of raised and damaged paving on Fisherton Street and have taken immediate action to make the area safe by installing barriers.
“At this stage, we are currently investigating the cause of the problem, and once this has been identified, we will be able to plan and schedule the appropriate repairs. We expect to have further clarity on timescales soon.
“In the meantime, we are also reviewing nearby sections of paving as part of our routine highway inspections to ensure there are no similar issues elsewhere. Safety remains our priority, and we will continue to take appropriate action wherever any risks are identified.”
