Moors Valley Country Park and Forest will host its spooktacular, after-dark illuminated Halloween trail again this autumn.
The hugely popular trail, opened for the first time last year, features a host of new additions for 2025, along with additional dates, offering more opportunities to visit this fiendishly scary attraction.
Filled with scary surprises nestled deep in the forest, the spooky illuminated trail will be open for 11 days from 23rd October until the 2nd November. Features for 2025 include brand-new characters to encounter on the trail, such as a sinister Plague Doctor, Devilish Dracula, and a creepy scarecrow hiding in the forest.
As visitors embark on an eerie journey winding through the forest, they will uncover its spooky secrets through a series of specially created lights and animations.
Updated with new spooky sights and sounds, this year the trail will feature a skin-crawling walk through a giant spider tunnel and a visit to an eerily possessed pumpkin farm. The forest will become a Halloween wonderland decorated with hundreds of gravestones, bats, spiders, skulls, crows and pumpkins.
The trail will open at 4 pm with last entry at 9 pm, and the journey through the woods will get scarier as the darkness of night sets in. Tickets for the theatrical spectacular are available in specific time slots, allowing families and friends to choose the time slot that suits them best.
Halloween-themed treats will be on sale at the event, including half-and-half trick-or-treat pizzas, bewitched heaven and hell burgers and vampire dogs. Finish with marshmallows for something sweet, sip a wickedly good hot toddy, or indulge in a decadent hot chocolate as you soak up the spooky atmosphere.
With limited capacity and timed entry, anyone wanting to secure tickets is encouraged to book early to ensure the date and time of choice.
Tickets are £14 for adults at off-peak times or £18 at on-peak times, £8 or £12 for children (age 3-16), and £40 or £56 for a family of four. Four-legged friends are also welcome, with the trail open to dogs on leads.

Natalie Crabb, Recreation Manager for Forestry England at Moors Valley, said, “We had such amazing feedback about our illuminated Halloween trail last year and we are delighted to bring it back again this autumn.
"There are lots of new features and characters to discover deep in the forest and treats to enjoy along the way. It’s a perfect Halloween outing for all the family with many ghoulish experiences to explore in the forest. The different time slots mean visitors can pick the scare level that’s right for them. It’s going to be a great way to have some spooky fun this Halloween!”
RG Live’s Matthew Findlay, Director of Live Experiences, said, “Moors Valley has always been a place where nature takes centre stage, but this Halloween the forest itself becomes the setting for a spooky adventure. As night falls, eerie lights flicker through the trees, ghostly figures stir in the shadows, and the trail comes alive with spine-tingling surprises at every turn.
"From Dracula’s lair to the possessed pumpkin farm, and a tunnel crawling with glowing spiders, visitors will find themselves immersed in a world where the line between the natural and the supernatural blurs. Whether you come for the frights, the fun, or the magic of exploring the forest after dark, Halloween at Moors Valley promises an unforgettable adventure for all ages.”
