The sun was shining for Girlguiding South West England’s first parent/girl Roadshow event of 2023 on Sunday, 21 May, at Cholderton Rare Breed Farm, Wiltshire.
Around 300 girls – from the youngest 4-year-old Rainbows right through to 18-year-old Rangers - and their families enjoyed a family day out, learnt more about Guiding, and participated in the farm activities.
The day started with an introduction from the Region’s Chief Commissioner, Laura Cottey, who showcased the opportunities Girlguiding South West England offers its 45,000 members across our 16 diverse Counties and Islands.
The girls took to the stage to act out highlights from their time in Guiding including their favourite trips and memories, while Laura talked about the fun and adventures we have planned for the next year.
Girls and their families got a chance to meet the Chief Commissioner team (and received a badge), before exploring everything that the farm had to offer, including a climbing wall brought in by Girlguiding South West England.
Girlguiding welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds, ages, cultures, faiths and abilities. For more information about volunteering with Girlguiding, visit https://www.girlguidingsouthwest.org.uk/join-us.
