Salisbury’s new public art budget will be one of the subjects under discussion at the City Council’s services committee on Monday (4th April 2022).
The meeting at Salisbury Guildhall starts at 6.30pm and everyone is encouraged to come and hear a debate on how to select and commission works of art to enhance the city.
The administration has allocated £10,000 a year for new artworks. Leadership group member Cllr Annie Riddle explained, “We are very keen to involve the whole community right from the start so if you have strong views on how we should go about it, please come and tell us.”
Also on a busy agenda are reports about the refurbishment of the public toilets at Fisherton Rec and the possibility of opening a refreshment kiosk alongside as the River Park work progresses; an annual review of the work done by city centre security officers; an update on the council’s Environmental Policy Action Plan; and changes at Hudson’s Field campsite to create more hard standing for campervans, potentially bringing in extra revenue.
