This July, two dedicated support workers from Salisbury Trust for the Homeless, Hannah and Lisa, will be walking 200 miles throughout the month.
They are walking to raise vital funds and awareness for the Salisbury Trust for the Homeless and its work in the local community.
Setting off on Wednesday, 1st July 2026, the pair will walk various routes across Salisbury, driven by a shared determination to ensure the Trust can continue supporting those experiencing homelessness and expand its reach to help even more people in need.
Their challenge has been inspired by the remarkable achievement of former chairperson Phyllis Babb, who last year raised over £12,000 through her own fundraising efforts.
Those funds played a critical role in furnishing a new property opened in January 2026 and kickstarting a much-needed furniture upgrade programme across all accommodation operated by the Trust.
Unlike many organisations, Salisbury Trust for the Homeless receives no government funding, relying entirely on the generosity and goodwill of the local community. This makes initiatives like Hannah and Lisa’s challenge even more vital.
Supporters can follow every step of the journey as Hannah and Lisa share their progress on Strava, allowing the public to track the miles as they count down to their ambitious 200-mile goal.
Regular updates will also be shared on the Salisbury Trust for the Homeless Facebook page, keeping the community informed throughout the month.
In celebration of reaching their final mile, a special event is planned to mark the achievement and recognise the support of everyone who has contributed along the way.
To support Hannah and Lisa and help make a lasting difference, donations can be made via their GoFundMe page – https://gofund.me/a777361fb
