Would-be bus drivers have the chance to take the wheel with Salisbury Reds this month at a special event at the Livestock Market.
The bus operator is on the lookout for new additions to its team and is organising a ‘try it’ day on Sunday 13th March, for anyone wishing to see if a driving career is for them.
“We know there are some potentially excellent bus drivers out there,” said Salisbury Reds general manager, Alex Chutter.
“They may currently be in a completely different career but considering a change. Many could even have thought about joining our team in the past but had concerns about driving a large vehicle.
“This is their opportunity to see how easy it can be. Our experienced managers and driving instructors will be on-hand between 10am and 4pm to guide people through our mini off-road course at the Livestock Market this month.”
Salisbury Reds is particularly keen to meet potential recruits with great communication and customer service skills, perhaps currently working in the retail sector.
“These attributes are very important because the way we treat our customers sets us apart,” added Alex.
“We don’t expect applicants to have a PCV licence because we will teach them how to drive a bus, full training is given with pay. They just need to turn up and see us on Sunday, see if they’re suited to the role, and we’ll do the rest.”
The event takes place at Salisbury Livestock Market between 10am and 4pm on Sunday 13th March. There is no need to book an appointment, potential drivers need just turn up on the day.
Those who apply to join the Salisbury Reds team and are successful will receive full pay during training, all tests fees paid for, free travel for themselves and a nominee, as well as a whole host of high street discounts.
