Humanitarian charity Serve On is offering a fantastic opportunity for young people to experience the world of search and rescue in a free, week-long summer camp this August.
The Chilmark-based organisation is running the residential camp for 14-18-year-olds who would benefit from learning new skills from expert trainers in developing leadership, confidence, altruism and resilience.
The inaugural Rescue Rookies Camp will be hosted at Serve On’s HQ in Chilmark, near Salisbury, from 22nd-28th August. The camp is open to 25 young people and there are still some places left ahead of the deadline at midnight on the 31st of July 2022.
There will also be the chance to win a £1,000 prize for their own community project.
Serve On Director of Operations Dan Cooke said, “It’s a great opportunity for young people to be exposed to leaders with a strong sense of purpose, to get a different perspective on life and to be valued for their contribution.
“There are leadership qualities in everyone and young people often have more to offer than they are given credit for, particularly in this age where their understanding of the digital world is so keen.
“This camp aims to bring out those qualities and boost their skills, confidence and self-esteem, while being fun at the same time.”
Young people interested in being part of the camp can apply online here. The deadline for applications is this Sunday, the 31st of July 2022.
