Salisbury kick-off football for 2025 at the Ray Mac as they welcome old foes Weymouth for a New Year's Day clash.
This will be the 18th meeting between Weymouth and Salisbury-based sides, with the first meeting in November 1955 in the FA Cup.
More recently, Salisbury FC and Weymouth met in the Southern League Premier South in the 2018/19 season, with Weymouth winning both of those matches by a one-goal margin.
The latter of those two games was the last meeting at the Ray Mac on January 26th 2019, with the visitors winning by a single goal in a seven-goal thriller in front of 1224 supporters.
Weymouth were champions that season, with Salisbury losing in the play-off semi-finals to the Met Police.
Weymouth finished in a solid midtable 15th last season but have struggled so far this term and sit bottom of the Vanarama National League South table. They only have two wins to their name so far this season, with both coming away from home first at Dorking Wanderers and then against Aveley back at the start of November.
They have, however, drawn their last two matches, most recently against top-of-the-table Torquay with a 2-2 boxing day draw, and have shown improved performances since the arrival of former Salisbury City player/assistant manager Warren Feeney.
Brandon Goodship grabbed his second of the game to level in the final 10 minutes to give The Terras a vital point as they look to overturn a 10-point deficit to drag themselves out of the relegation zone.
The Whites have been showing better form of late after a tricky spell and have picked up eight points from their last six games, with wins against Hemel Hempstead and Welling being complimented by spirited draws away at both Slough and, most recently, on Boxing Day, Eastbourne Borough.
Those results have seen Salisbury move back up the table, and they are now 9-points clear of the relegation places and looking to build on those performances.
A good crowd is expected on New Year's Day, and as such, the game will be fully segregated with extra searches being conducted at all gates - please arrive in good time and, if possible, buy tickets in advance to speed up entry to the ground.
