Salisbury have announced the signing of highly-rated goalkeeper James Hillson from Southend United.
Hillson, 23, spent time at the Ray Mac on loan with the Whites during the 2018/19 season while at Reading.
The stopper then spent time with Arsenal's Under 18 and 23 squads before moving to Southend United on non-contract terms in the Summer.
Hillson was on Arsenal’s books for several years, appearing in Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy for the Gunners. He has also been featured in their European squad and appeared on the bench for several European fixtures.
Salisbury Assistant Manager Callum Hart was excited to get the 'keeper back at the club. He said, "I am delighted to welcome James back to the Ray Mac. He’s a player who was recommended to me by former Reading goalkeeping coach and former teammate of mine, James Bitner, and I’m delighted James has decided to join us once again.
"He’s a player whose development I have monitored closely. He has gone onto Arsenal, where he signed a professional contract travelling with the first team week in and week out, training with the likes of Aaron Ramsdale and David Raya and all the world-class players they have at their disposal on a daily basis. That can only be a huge positive for him and us with the experience he has gained from that.
"I’m sure you will get behind him and welcome him back."
James Hillson said on his arrival, "I’m really looking forward to coming back to the Ray Mac. I’m very excited to join a club with a clear vision and I can’t wait to meet everyone and get out on the pitch."
Hillson is available to play against Hornchurch.
David Aziaya will return to Bromley at the end of his loan period; the club would like to thank him for his efforts during his spell at the club and thank Bromley for their support.
Jordan Thomas and Aidan Elliott-Wheeler have both had their loans at the club extended.
