Salisbury welcome Farnborough back to the Ray Mac this evening (21st January) for their third meeting this season, with each team registering a win so far this term.
This match is rearranged after the initial attempt to play the fixture was thwarted by a frozen pitch at the Ray Mac back on Saturday, 11th January.
The two sides first met this season in the Vanarama National League South in early September, when Farnborough won 3-1 in their home fixture.
The sides met for the second time in the Isuzu FA Trophy in mid-November. Again, it was the home side who prevailed, Salisbury winning 3-0 with all three goals coming in a blistering 12-minute second-half spell.
Farnborough are currently on a run of five games without a win, losing four and drawing one. They have also not scored in those five games either.
On Saturday, Farnborough lost at home to a single Hemel Hempstead Town goal, scored in the third minute by Oliver Lynch.
Farnborough boss Spencer Day bemoaned a poor first half and a lack of luck, stating that his side is not good enough at the moment.
Salisbury are currently on a four-game unbeaten run in the league with two draws and two wins since losing at home to Maidstone United in mid-December.
Wins against Welling United and, most recently, away at Chippenham Town have helped lift Salisbury back towards mid-table, and they now sit 10 points clear of the relegation place.
Over the last six matches, Salisbury have picked up 9 points, the 11th-best in the league.
Salisbury’s last game was settled by a moment of luck, as the Whites completed the double of their north Wiltshire rivals Chippenham Town.
The game was a tactical battle, with both sides having chances to win them, but with both defences and goalkeepers having good games. A moment of luck settled it in Salisbury’s favour when Will King sliced his clearance up and over Will Henry in the game’s final stages.
