Tomorrow (Saturday 20th August 2022), firefighters from Tisbury fire station are holding a family fun day for the first time in four years.
The event will take place from 10am – 4pm and will offer fun, entertainment, and advice for all ages.
Tisbury’s firefighters say they are excited to finally be able to welcome the local community back onto the fire station on The Avenue and are encouraging everyone to come along and spend some time meeting firefighters, having a look around the station, fire appliances and learning about home, fire, and road safety.
The event will involve a wide range of activities, including a cooking fire demonstration, a display using the aerial ladder platform and even teddy bear parachuting (and zip lining!).
Visitors will also be able to see fire engines from Wessex Fire & Rescue Service’s Heritage Fleet, get involved in CPR sessions from Dorset & Wiltshire FRS’s Casualty Care team, and meet officers from Tisbury Police.
Firefighter Matt Mullins said, “This is a great way for our local community to find out more about its local fire station. We’ve waited four years to hold this event and have so much planned, both fun and educational, for all the family – there will even be opportunities to win some fantastic family-friendly prizes. We can’t wait to see as many people as possible getting involved.”
Keep an eye on Tisbury’s Facebook page for more information about what the day will involve.
