A man has been charged in connection with a serious collision between a car and a pedestrian in Pinewood Close, Bemerton Heath, on Saturday evening (10th May).
At around 5:45 pm, police received a call from the ambulance service that a man in his 40s had been struck by a blue Ford Fiesta on the pavement in Pinewood Close, suffering serious leg injuries.
The Fiesta, which was being driven in a dangerous and reckless manner prior to the incident, had then left the scene.
Following swift enquiries, police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody for questioning.
Ashley Sherred, 33, of Southampton Road, Salisbury, has been charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and dangerous driving.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court this morning (12th May).
A car which we were previously appealing to locate has now been found. Thank you to everyone who called in with potential sightings.
