Fisherton Street has been closed this afternoon (Friday, 5th June) after firefighters were called to deal with a car fire.
A black Mercedes-Benz was ablaze near the sorting office, on Fisherton Street, as you approach the railway bridge.
Firefighters attended the scene wearing breathing apparatus, and billows of smoke were seen emanating from the car.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service have been approached for comment.

Combined with the road closure of Wilton Road at St Paul's Roundabout, the incident has caused long traffic tailbacks around the ring road, on Fisherton Street and South Western Road.
