Wiltshire Police officers responded to a report of anti-social behaviour in Alderbury Recreation Park on Monday (13th May).
They said, "On investigation, the local policing team discovered a fire within a bin in a wooded area as well as lots of broken glass on the junior play equipment.
"Fortunately, officers were able to promptly extinguish the fire and subsequently remove the broken glass which could have caused injury to a child using the equipment.
"Three youths seen near to the area were spoken with.
"We would like to appeal to the community to report any incidents witnessed to get in touch via 999 or 101 as appropriate to help identify any culprits and prevent any future escalation of such behaviours that affect the whole community."
